KAZAKHSTAN

Kyrgizstan border – Charyn Canyon – Almaty – Russian Border – 5 days 1600 km

Intereresting for us:

  • Almaty – former capital and the largest city in Kazakhstan. Place where we plan to full service of our  bikes
  • Charyn Cannion – the “small brother” of the Grand Canyon Colorado (US). The canyon roughly 90 kilometres length, has gained colorful formations of varying shapes and sizes.
  • Lake Balkhash – largest lake in Kazakhstan and and 15th largest in the world. It’s length is about 600 km and the width varies from 9–19 km in the eastern part to 74 km in the western part. West part filled with freshwater, whereas the eastern part is much deeper and saltier

KYRGIZSTAN

Kazakstan border  – West Altay Range – Mongolia border – 6 days, ~1300 km

Interesting for us:

  • Altay mountain – The name “Altay” (or “Altai”) comes from Mongolian “Altan”, which means “golden”.  Placed in the junction of four countries: Russia (largest part), Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China. Altay mountains are truly one of the nature’s most marvelous gems, amazing by its diversity and beauty.
